Introduction

MAN

Oh man of earth, you did not heed My solemn Word of warning.
I offered to fill ev'ry need... you chose the way of mourning.
I placed you in a perfect land... asked only your belief.
Perfect gifts flowed from My hand... you chose the way of grief.

Told you blessings would not cease, gave for your joy - a wife.
I offered you the way of peace... you chose the way of strife.
And so I banished you, oh man, from wondrous Paradise.
My heart was sad... was not My Plan... you chose to pay the price.

And now I see you filled with shame... your heart full of despair.
I hear you curse My Holy Name... and claim that I don't care.
I hear you shouting out to Me, "Why must life be so bleak?
Why is it that we cannot see? Why is it You won't speak?

WOMAN

Woman of earth, did you not hear... the words I spoke to you?
I held out love, you knew no fear, but you chose what you would do.
You turned your back on all I gave... on all that you could be.
You thought My love could always save, you wanted to be free.

You wanted all the things you saw... no matter I said no.
Did you forget there was My Law, that could not let you go?
My Law was not to hold and bind... it was to keep you pure.
It was set up to help you find... to keep your footsteps sure.

But now My Law is broken! Your eye has gone astray.
In vain My Words were spoken... your heart would not obey.

PARADISE - NO MORE

You stand outside of Paradise... you stand with eyes of fear.
No longer do you see Me... no longer do you hear.
My heart aches for My children... they no longer hear My voice.
And as they fall and stumble and joy is theirs no more...
I sadly bid My angels come forth and lock the door.

Flaming swords are in their hands... no mortal man may pass.
'Til such a time when all's fulfilled... and man finds his rest at last.
And tho' I've locked the gate... I still hold fast the key...
While I offer them another path that they may yet come back to me...

And so the journey starts anew...
My creatures seem so lost.
I ache for there will be so few...
So many tempest-tossed.

I see their faith grow dim...
Their bitter hearts aflame.
So few will come to Him,
So few will call His Name.

"Oh Man," My heart cries out,
"If only you could see...
The love that pours about...
That longs to set you free!"

ABRAHAM

"I found a man!" I shout,
"Who's looking up at Me.
I found a man who does not doubt...
Oh, blessed victory!

"The path will not be easy," I said to My new man.
"The Law no longer is your friend...
'twill harm you if it can.
You'll be beset by enemies who'll tempt your very soul...
You'll yearn to reach the journey's end... to reach your far-off goal.
You'll walk thru ages looking... looking with a sigh...
Searching, always searching, crying out your anguished 'Why?'

ISRAEL

A nation will you father... one I shall call My Own.
I shall tend to it and prune it... 'til that nation is full grown.

I shall keep My Word before it... I shall teach it of My Law.
It alone shall bear My Name... it alone shall draw...
Draw rebellious man to Me tho' they no longer seek...
That I may gather to My Breast, the lowly, lost, the weak.
For My heart is full of pity... they have not understood...
How I yearn for them to come to Me... Oh, only if they would!
I take no joy in broken hearts... their searching eyes of pain...
I long to hold them in My arms... to heal them once again.

THE PROPHETS

See, oh man and woman... the many men I send?
I put My Words upon their lips... I send them out to mend.
Why do you spurn their message? Why do you still pretend...
That you don't need Me any more... that there will be no end?

What must I do to show you... that you cannot go alone?
What must I do to bring you... to bring you to My Throne?
What must I do to help you... to help you come to Me?
What must I do to save you... from the restless enemy?

I have not changed, oh man of earth... My voice has not been stilled.
Come walk with Me and learn your worth That you may be fulfilled.

Look, My wayward children... I offer you a way!
Look! My wayward children... Hear what I have to say!

THE SON OF GOD

I have a Son who makes Me proud... I have a Son so dear..
.He whispers gently He will help... He whispers in My ear,
"Send Me, Heavenly Father... Send Me to do Thy Will...
Send Me, heavenly Father... let all the earth be still."

The Father's eyes are saddened... to send His only Son...
So willing to be humbled... that the Father's Will be done.

"Yes, My Son, I'll send You... tho' few will really care...
Yes, My Son, I'll send You, oh the burden You will bear!
For men will laugh and scorn You... so few will know You're Mine...
So few will stand in awe... that You, Son are Divine.

But how I love My children... they must know this is true...
They must know how I call to them... Yes, Son, I'll send You.
Thru mighty acts of Power, heal the sick and cure the lame...
Say not a single word when they curse and bring You shame.
Then surely they will know... that I have come to earth.
Then surely they will know... I offer them rebirth.

My Son, You know that You must die to bring about My Plan.
My Son, You know that You must take the curse for all of man.

Yes, I know, said the Son
Yes, I know I am the One
Yes I know it must be done
Yes I know it will be won

So the Father sent Him to walk the ways of man.
So the Father sent Him to fill His Holy Plan.

THE SON OF GOD ON EARTH

The Son of God came down to earth... did all that He was told...
Welcomed to His bosom, the lame, the young, the old.
He told them of the Father's love, said He had come to die...
Told them they could ask and ask... in Him they'd find no lie.

They laughed and scorned and spat on Him... but in their hearts was fear.
They wondered at His Power... wondered who walked here.
They wished to do Him harm... they wished to bring His death...
They plotted evil schemes... to silence His last breath.
They thought they had succeeded... thought their plot complete...
When the earth itself began to shake and tremble 'neath their feet.
Panic gripped their very souls... they scattered... tried to flee!
Who was this man who hung there?... This man upon the tree?

It's done, oh Father... I am dying...
It's done, oh Father... who is crying?
It's done, oh Father... are they trying?
It's done, oh Father... I am dying...

Silence came upon the earth... 'twas doubt in every eye...
Who was this man who hung there... stark against the sky?

They took His body down... His lips would speak no more.
They laid Him in the ground... a stone sealed up the door.

Wait, oh man! It's just begun
Wait, oh man! For the rising sun

And there He was again! The Man rose from the grave!
So gentle was His voice... "You see, I came to save... "

THE CHURCH

And then He called the woman... said, "Come here unto Me.
Recall the time in Paradise when you yearned so to be free?
How you spurned the land and tossed your head and said you did not care...
The land so full of love and joy... the land so pure and fair?

But now you must be weary... burdened with your guilt.
But now you must be ready... for the Kingdom I have built.

I offer you the key once more... the key to Paradise...
The key to open wide the gate... the key to make you wise...
The key to open wide the gate... to let My people in...
The key to open wide the gate... where man is free from sin.

Come bear My Name
It holds no shame
Free from all blame
Undying flame

She ran with outstretched arms, fell at His Feet and cried...
"Forgive! Forgive! Forgive me! Forgive my willful pride!
Teach me Lord, oh teach me to walk close by Your side...
Teach me Lord, oh teach me I no longer want to hide.

The Lord reached down so gently and took her trembling hand...
Raised her tear-stained face and said ,"Woman, rise and stand.
Stand and get thee ready... prepare a glorious feast.
Send out invitations... to the greatest and the least.
I go away for just a while... there are things that I must do.
So long, so long have I waited to prepare a place for you.

"For tho' you strayed and left Me, I knew you would return.
I knew you would fall and stumble... you had so much to learn.
Make haste! Make haste, oh woman! The Father waits for you.
Make haste! Make haste, oh woman! For there is much to do!
The time has come, oh woman, you need no more to search...
You have a new name, woman... Your name shall be... The Church."
